Concordia
The Concordia Cottages are just down the road from Arcadia. It consists of 21 self-contained units, 10 of which are bedsitters and the other 11 consisting of a single bedroom with a lounge, kitchen and bathroom.
The cottages are ideal for those who do not need assistance but enjoy the peace of mind of a communal set-up. Occupants at Concordia can order one meal a day at any time from Arcadia’s “meals on wheels”.
Within the Concordia complex, is the Golden Years Centre. This is a buzz of activity where all of the aged in Greytown are invited to join in the activities such as carpet bowls, bridge, scrabble, card games, sing-a-longs, Busy Bees, Knit and Knatter Club and all sorts of other activities.
The Golden Years Centre has a bus to take residents shopping on a weekly basis, as well as a monthly trip in Pietermaritzburg. The Centre has a monthly braai where all Senior folk from the community are encouraged to join in to be able to interact with others. A huge fireplace ensures a cozy and warm atmosphere at the Centre during the winter months, and a lovely patio is used in summer.
