Home

Arcadia Home for the Aged was established in 1983 in response to a need by the community for a safe home for their parents and relatives. Arcadia was established by the local community and has been strongly supported by local Greytown citizens ever since.

Our home, situated in a residential area, accommodates 46 residents, who are treated with much love and compassion by dedicated and caring staff. Qualified nursing sisters are on daily duty ensuring that the health of residents is continuously monitored and creating a warm and homely atmosphere where residents can spend the rest of their lives. We strive to ensure that all residents are treated with dignity, love and compassion and encourage families to visit any time – there are no restricted visiting hours.

Greytown is a quaint country town in the heart of the KZN Midlands. It is centrally situated, with the North Coast, Durban, The King Shaka Airport, The Battlefields and The Drakensberg all within an easy two-hour drive. Greytown boasts all of the amenities that one can expect in a small thriving community.

There are well-stocked supermarkets carrying all of the expected brands. These are easily accessible with parking being very convenient. On the social side, there is the country club, the bowls club, the tennis club and various other clubs and organisations depending on one’s interests. For eating out, there are fast food outlets, takeaways and coffee shops and some of the B&Bs offer meals from time to time.

We run and manage two facilities: Arcadia, offering full board for residents and frail care if necessary, and Concordia which is a small retirement complex.
